tootsie tuesday: josefina's ballet flats

shoes have been my obsession as long as i can remember and every week i seem to have a new sole mate.  so tuesdays will be 'tootsie tuesday' and showcase my latest shoe crush.  this week, i can't get enough of josefina's line of ballet flats, especially the gingham ones above.  so easy to pair with a cool linen shirt and white jeans for a crisp summer look.

fall forecast: silk scarves

i couldn't help but look forward to cooler fall temperatures when i saw this chic sweatshirt and silk scarf ensemble.  i've long adored hermès scarves and add them to my basics for a bit of punch as headbands, bracelets or belts, mostly.  but, i absolutely love how this silk scarf knotted around the neck is paired with a modern sweatshirt.  i certainly will be drawing inspiration from this look come fall!

the mill valley gypset

i mixed and mingled at the 7 on locust  boutique in mill valley, ca at an event for julia chaplin, author of the fabulous GYPSET book series.  the GYPSET books, if you are not familiar,  follow an emerging group of artists, musicians, fashion designers, surfers, and bon vivants who lead semi-nomadic, unconventional lives.  the three books- travel, style and living- were recently released in a beautiful slipcase set.  a perfect addition to your bookcase or coffee table.  the set is available at 7 on locust along with a marvelous selection of boho chic clothing, jewelry and home goods. 

i wore a tibi dress (past season) and madewell sandals. perched in the clubhouse caravan in front of the shop.

summer vacation

the summer kicked off with a relaxing weekend away with good friends in cabo san lucas, mexico.  it's an easy flight from san francisco and requires minimal packing.  i brought along some of my "go-to's": white coverups (similar here and here), my new favorite bikini, a wide-brim hat, and gold gladiator sandals for day.  for the hot, humid nights shorts and a camisole and loose-fitting dresses were perfect (similar here and here).  naturally, i'm eager to plan the next visit! here's a peek at my weekend and what i'd like to pack for my next trip south of the border.
