mules have been tip-toeing back onto the fashion radar lately and i must say i'm happy they're here. flats are the name of my game and these strike a nice balance between fashion and function. take a break from ballet flats and step into spring with this decidedly more modern look.
my favorite pairs are by robert clergerie, gucci, tibi, dolce vita and zara.

it's winter, yet looks and feels like spring. at least here in northern california! so what's a girl to wear?! my favorite solution when the seasons transition is a striking jacket. simply pair with jeans during the day or pants in the evening and a silk camisole (here or here) for an effortlessly chic look.

on my recent ski trip to jackson hole, during a lovely après at the four seasons, i spotted a trio of ladies in the chicest winter coats. while it was a bit much to be sporting matching ensembles, i could definitely see why they all just had to have this coat-- a long down puffer with a lean silhouette topped off with a luxurious fur trimmed hood. practical and fashionable at the same time. i wish i lived somewhere chilly enough this would be deemed a necessity!
mackage kay coat, $795
i just returned from a fantastic girls weekend in jackson hole, wyoming. it's a tremendously beautiful and rustic place to visit and i pinch myself every time i get the chance to go. highlights from the trip included gorgeous ski conditions, après at the mangy moose, dinner at the snake river grill and dancing at the million dollar cowboy bar.
no matter your agenda, the look in jackson is decidedly low-key, but it's always fun to add a little something. so i thought these aquazzura suede moon boots were just the thing to get me around the mountain!
despite the passage of time, this 2011 vogue feature of aerin lauder at home in aspen still feels current. don't let the cozy and casual look fool you though, it's most definitely deluxe- sweater by burberry (similar here) and leather pants by daryl k). but, we can all certainly emulate the look with our own black jeans (or get the leather look with these), a neutral color sweater by current/elliott, banjo & matilda, or demylee, and all-weather sorel caribou boots. if you weren't prepared for the last wintery blast, you certainly can be for the next!
