two things we all need this summer are sunscreen and a chic straw hat. hats weren't really on my radar until last summer when two stylish girlfriends showed up for fourth of july festivities and looked supremely cool in the sweltering heat. of course, i had to get in on the action. i snapped up this panama hat from cuyana and my current favorite from eric javits was perfect for a recent trip to jamaica (see more here). check out these hard to resist options from reformation, gigi burris, lola hats and h&m.

skinny jeans. skinny pants, skinny everything. aren't we all ready for the next big thing to come along? while we patiently wait for that moment, try working wider silhouettes into your repertoire to give your legs some breathing room. stand out with a bold pair of culottes or wide-leg trousers, sport some joggers for a more casual look or ease your way out of skinny jeans with a pair of kick flares (a crop with a flare).

there's always lots of talk about 'the little black dress' (aka 'the lbd'). it's so slimming! versatile! season-less! well that's probably true, but it's never something i'm psyched to wear. i'm a much bigger fan of the 'lwd', you know 'little white dress'. mine are in heavy rotation come summer and i look forward to breaking them out very soon! try adding one of these to your summer wardrobe and see what you think.

i recently returned from a lovely getaway weekend in montego bay, jamaica where we celebrated the wedding of two good friends. the festivities were held at the incredibly charming round hill hotel & villas. from the intimate beach dinner to the romantic seaside wedding ceremony the entire weekend was such a treat to experience. the theme of the wedding was 'one love' and the whole weekend truly embodied the bob marley lyrics 'let's get together and feel alright'. i wish i had more pictures to share. i'll blame it on the rum...
