head case
hats may reign supreme in the summertime for their sunshine and hair management skills, but when blocking uva's isn't your biggest concern, enter the headband. bonus- they don't visually impair your driving and you can leave it on when you go inside without looking (too) ridiculous.

wrap it up
look no further for a fresh new pair of espadrilles for the summer. margaux, maker of the most perfect ballet flats, has partnered with mds stripes to offer a beautiful espadrille with interchangeable ribbons in mds signature stripe and black grosgrain. pair them with an easy day dress and straw tote for a chic everyday summer look.

summertime vibes
while we ride the roller coaster that is spring weather this image makes me long for a ritzy beach club and some serious sunshine. plan ahead for the summertime vibes with a thick coating of self-tanner (this is my fave) and a breezy linen wrap dress.

horseplay
over the weekend i attended a kentucky derby themed event in support of ucsf benioff children's hospital at a beautiful home in ross. the backyard was buzzing with ladies in spring dresses and a myriad of hats and gentlemen suited up in a rainbow of pastels. i opted for a monochromatic look pulling out one of my favorite dresses that has worked for many occasions, black suede wedges (so as not to sink into the lawn!) and topped it off with a bow-shaped fascinator. the mint juleps and pimm's cups were flowing and m.c. andrew firestone (of bachelor-fame) kept the bid cards flying high. thanks to the ucsf benioff children's hospital ambassadors for putting together a lovely afternoon for a very worthy cause.

prints charming
printed skirts have been on my radar lately and i stumbled across this kate spade number (above) and just love everything about the outfit. it's perfectly polished for a night out, but each of the pieces can easily be repurposed for other occasions. wear the skirt with a t-shirt and sneakers for a casual day look or dress the top and earrings down with black jeans and sandals. what's not to love about pieces that do double-duty?!
