feeling the blues

it's easy to find fashion inspiration on the internet and social media, but often times it's completely unattainable or irrelevant to the daily lives of fashion mortals. so i'm always pleased to come across a chic image with items i can totally rock while shopping at trader joe's. the above outfit being my latest obsession-i'm definitely feeling the blues-in a good way. get the look with this powdery blue denim shirt from ayr and these medium wash distressed jeans from rag&bone. see you in the frozen aisle.

don't we all hope to get a lovely bouquet of flowers on valentine's day? i certainly wouldn't mind if they came in the form of this gorgeous embroidered dress!

not so skinny

lately i've been feeling that my skinny jeans are constricting me sartorially, not to mention physically. i try to mix things up, but regrettably they are the default option- school runs, dinner dates and everything in between. it's time to break free of this habit and i thought these striped culottes would be a great alternative-and they have an elastic waist! paired with a black sweater and flats they are great for spring and even better for summer with a sleeveless top, sandals and sun-kissed skin.

après ski

whether you ski or not, après ski is something we can all enjoy. this past weekend my drink of choice after a day on the mountain was veuve clicquot, mostly because their outdoor bar was located slope side at the base of the green runs we were skiing with our kids. not pictured here is my ornery 6 year old who had alternate après ideas. so after this quick infusion of 'vitamin v' we moved on and it was time to freshen up. good thing all that's necessary is a fun hat, cute boots and a pair of sunglasses.

wintery mix

putting together a go-to winter outfit that's both chic and warm can be quite a challenge. when i came across this image of pandora sykes i immediately thought "she nailed it!" it's layered, comfy and versatile for day or night.
